Alexandra Carroll resides in Littleton, Colorado. She has a background in the sciences, but don’t hold that against her. Her technical background includes laboratory and field research, and banging her head agains her desk late at night waiting for an idea to pop in. She has traveled and spoken in many settings across Europe, North America, and South America. She always travels and speaks at the same time, because she is one of those people who never stops chatting on planes, much to the chagrin of passengers in her general vicinity. You know what they say: there’s no audience like a captive one. She has been invited to speak on topics including paleontology, biology, cosmology, philosophy, philology, amphibology, and most often antapology. She has experience teaching English from primary to university ages, yet somehow she still struggles to formulate sentences and often uses words that are not real. She was a botany tutor at Colorado State University until it almost killed her. She has a great appreciation for film and worked as a projectionist for years until the projectors went digital. That’s about the time she went into lab work, because it’s also solitary, quiet, and very dark. Creative people have sensitive skin and sensitiver feelings. Sensitiver is a word, trust me, i’m an English teacher.
